James asks…
Should I read 3 good Mobile Marketing books or pay $1000 for a workshop?
The Third Screen by Chuck Martin
Mobile Marketing for Dummies by Michael Becker/John Arnold
Mobile Marketing: Finding Your Customers by Cindy Krum
I am new to the field, so I am trying to get a strong overview.
And please feel free to post blogs, mailing lists and sites.

admin answers:
Books are really good reference but in the case of mobile marketing and its ever changing technology I suggest you choose one from the list that suites you needs the best. With regards to the $1000 workshop I don’t think it is worth it. I have attended lots of conference, workshops and seminars like this but it doesn’t really give you what you want.
I suggest if you really want to learn more about mobile marketing, read blogs and articles from industry practitioners and surround yourself with individuals who are already in the field and practicing. Their personal experience on the the subject matter is a better workshop for you.

Paul asks…
What software is needed in order to start a text message mobile marketing platform?
I need to know the software required to start text marketing, allowing businesses to contact their customer database via text through our system.

admin answers:
There are many software choices in the marketing arena. You can go to their website and download (they are all paid).
There are simple ones that only send bulk sms, but you also can find others that besides sending text messages, ables you to create many types of campaigns, manage database and analyze results, like Involvemobile, where you can send sms from 2c.

Mark asks…
How do I set up mobile marketing for my car dealership? Is it possible to broadcast pictures messages of cars?
I want to be able to send special deals and previews of new cars with MMS to phones.

admin answers:
I’d use Cellyspace if I were you. It is easy to use: just upload the pictures you want to use, add text and create a name for the MMS. You can then place that name everywhere and anywhere. Then the interested buyer can text ‘MYCAR’ to 33563 and get a cool slide show.
